Tineco A10 Review: All Tests & Analysis

Welcome to our Tineco A10 review. Let’s go!

Tineco A10’s airflow & suction

The A10’s airflow was measured at 42 CFM; its suction was measured at 76 in of water lift. The vacuum’s airflow is above average, while its suction is slightly below average. The A10’s suction also drops significantly over time because its pre-filter clogs easily with fine debris.

Tineco A10 tests

Flour clog test

In our flour clog test, the Tineco A10 picks up debris without issue, but much of the debris it picks up deposits on its pre-motor filter. Compare this result to that of the Dyson V8, for example. The Dyson also picks up the flour without issue, but almost none of it deposits on its pre-filter because it uses multiple cyclones to separate out fine debris and drop it back down into its bin.

The A10 doesn’t have multiple cyclones like the V8, and so we see a large quantity of fine debris deposited on its pre-filter. These results indicate that the A10 will lose suction much quicker and require much more filter maintenance than a multi-cyclonic vacuum like the V8.

Carpet cleaning

In our carpet stress test, the Tineco A10 performed very well. It didn’t have any trouble picking up any debris.

Hard floor cleaning

In our hard floor stress test, the A10 didn’t have any trouble picking up finer debris, though it did have trouble picking up larger debris. Debris gets stuck to the front of the cleaner head on the forward pass and stays stuck as the cleaner head is pulled backward. To remedy this issue, you can buy a soft roller cleaner head separately for the Tineco A10. This cleaner head has no trouble with large debris on hard floors, but it is expensive. It’s close to half the price of the whole vacuum.

Carpet deep clean test

Tineco A10 picked up 70% of debris after being pushed back and forth three times over an area of carpet embedded with fine debris. This is an above average result and an excellent result for a cordless vacuum at its price point.

Tineco A10 crevice test

Another component of our hard floor testing is our crevice test, and the Tineco A10 performed very well in this test as well. It cleans the crevice just about as quickly as much more expensive top-rated vacuums we’ve tested. The A10 didn’t fare as well in our debris containment test. Fine dust can clearly be seen exhausting out of the vacuum, which indicates that this vacuum doesn’t properly seal in but will rather exhaust much of the fine debris it picks up.

Battery life

Moving on to battery life and performance, the Tineco A10 was tested to run for 11 minutes on high. It also offers good performance on high. Recall that it picked up 70% of debris in our deep clean test on high. Most other budget-priced cordless vacuums do give you more battery life but have much less power and worse deep clean performance on high.

Hair tangle

In our long hair pickup tests, the A10 tangled with 25% of 8-inch long hair and 75% of 14-inch long hair. Both results are worse than average, meaning this vacuum does tangle more easily with longer hair than most other cordless vacuums we’ve tested.

WEIGHT AND CONTROL

When it comes to ease of use, the A10 is a fairly lightweight cordless vacuum. Its main body is light and comfortable to hold, and its cleaner head is light and easy to maneuver.

You pull this trigger to power on the Tineco A10 and close this latch to keep the trigger pulled and keep the vacuum on. To switch between low and high suction, you press this button on the top of the vacuum. Not much to say here; all of these controls work well and are easy to use.

Tineco A10 review

The Tineco A10 dust bin has a maximum measured capacity of 400 ml, which is below average for a cordless vacuum. The vacuum does come with a wall dock, but you have to plug it in to charge it. It doesn’t charge automatically when you dock it.

Pros and cons for Tineco A10

Summarizing all of the pros and cons for this vacuum, the Tineco A10 has above average power for a budget-grade cordless vacuum. It picks up surface level debris well on carpet, and it offers very good deep cleaning performance on carpet. It performed well picking up smaller debris on hard floors, and it performed very well in our hard floor crevice test. The vacuum is also very lightweight and easy to use.

On the negative side of things, the Tineco A10 performed poorly in our flour clog test, which indicates that suction will drop significantly and quickly on this vacuum as it picks up fine debris. It also indicates that the A10 will require extensive filter maintenance as you use it. We also don’t like that the A10 has trouble picking up large debris on hard floors, that its brush roll tangles easily with long hair, or that it doesn’t properly seal in fine debris.

Our recommendations

When it comes to general recommendations, the Tineco A10 is generally not recommended because it performed so poorly in our flour clog test and because it failed our debris containment test. No cordless vacuum at the A10’s price point that we’ve tested, at least, has passed both of these tests with flying colors. But there are certain models that pass at least one of them, and we would recommend any one of these models over the A10. Thank you for watching our Tineco A10 review!
